Announcement – Sexual Abuse Prevention Program for Ontario Certified Teachers
On September 1st, the Ontario College of Teachers announced a partnership with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. Through this partnership, all certified teachers will be taking part in an online child sexual abuse prevention program designed to help educators recognize and respond to signs of child sexual abuse, and reduce the risk of it occurring. The mandatory online program features the Canadian Centre for Child Protection’s Commit to Kids training and is legislated by the Government of Ontario.

Human Trafficking Module
This free 17 minute module addresses the scope of the problem of human trafficking within Canada, provides insights on the issue from the work of the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, highlights why schools are well suited to help, and how to address instances of sexual exploitation.

Free Informational Video on Safeguarding Children from Sexual Abuse – Now with Micro Credentials!
This 23 minute video provides an introduction to the issue of child sexual abuse, and its goal is to empower those who work with children and youth in their role as protective adults. The video discusses the scope of the problem of child sexual abuse in Canada, barriers to disclosure, grooming and boundary transgressions, as well as how to safeguard children from sexual abuse. This video now has a short quiz at the end that, when successfully completed, will produce a record of participation.
